Dr. Guru
Prasad Bansal is a well known name among the medical students
and aspiring candidates of Abohar.
Born on
6th October 1960,
he did his schooling up to premedical in Abohar. He completed
his M.B.B.S. from Govt. Medical College Patiala.
Dr. Guru
Prasad Bansal, well known as “Bansal Uncle” among his students,
teaches medical aspirants free of cost!!!! In today’s world
giving a selfless service like this is simply remarkable.
A student
from any background has just to go and tell him that he wants to
study from him and that it! ‘Bansal Uncle’ is ever ready to help
the students.
What more
praise is worthy is the dedication with which he has been
teaching the students for more than ten years. He is one of the
busiest dermatologist of the city and inspite of his busy
schedule; he conducts regular mock tests, discussions and test
series, the cost of which is borne by him!
In money
minded society like ours, a person giving so much to society
without any selfish reason, really deserves respect and special
place in everybody’s heart. He started teaching his own children
Subodh and pooja, both doing Post Graduation in dermatology and
social and preventive medicine respectively and today he is
teaching more than 100 students per year not only from Abohar
but also from nearby towns like Fazilka, Malout etc. As if just
serving the society was not sufficient, he is giving remarkable
results every year. An average of 20-25 students are being
selected every year under his guidance in different collages for
B.D.S. and M.B.B.S courses allover India. To his credit are some
of the shining stars like Abhinav Sidana (Topper AIIMS – 2002),
Nitin Garg (AIIMS – 3rd Rank holder) and Punjab PMT
topper 2044.
So, this
honest man, serving selflessly to the society and giving the
society some of its most efficient Doctors is person to be
admired and worshipped!
In his
service, his regular back-up is his wife Mrs. Kamlesh Bansal who
has always been with him in whatever he does.
Talking
about himself, he says “ Mere to bas do hi shouk hain ek bachon
ko padana aur unko hasana” ( he is a very good mimicry artist
too!) A complete down-to-earth person, Dr. G.P.Bansal just can’t
speak about himself for more than one minute.
What he is
doing for the society can’t be explained in few words. All we
can say is “ Hats off to you Bansal uncle” may God give him the
strength and faith to do whatever he wants to do for society. |
